 כ"ו לחודש האחד עשר תשע"ג

You better watch out, You better not cry, Better not pout, I'm telling you why.  Obama is coming to town!

That's right, Jerusalem residents.  Prepare for traffic jams, bus detours, and other, assorted mass disruptions in your lives.

U. S. President Obama is coming to Israel.  He is tentatively scheduled to arrive on March 20, not so coincidentally, around the same time of the deadline for the Prime Minister-designate to succeed in forming a government coalition.

Oh, really??  No demands, huh?

Arutz 7: Report: White House Still Concerned Over Bayit Yehudi's Strength
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro met with Bayit Yehudi chairman Naftali Bennett, amid "concerns" over the party's strength

David Lev, January 17, 2013

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro on Wednesday met with Bayit Yehudi chairman Naftali Bennett. A report on Channel Ten Thursday morning said that Shapiro invited Bennett to his home for a meeting.

According to the report, Bennett told Shapiro that there was “no chance” that a government that Binyamin Netanyahu forms after the election would agree to major withdrawals from Judea and Samaria to satisfy Palestinian Authority demands. “There is no chance that a government formed by Netanyahu would accept any agreement with the Palestinians,” due to their ongoing refusal to make any compromises.

It is illegal to call an Israeli official a Capo. But, am I allowed to call an American official a court Jew?

Probably not, tinoq she'nishbah, and all....

Anyway, of course, Obama is coming to butt his nose into Israeli politics, and make demands!  And, he has got plenty with which to blackmail us over it, too: Money.  I suggest that we watch for a meeting between him and Israeli President Shimon Peres, the real power broker in Israel.  Watch closely, as we see "Labor Zionism" is action!

I can assure you of one thing, though.  Shapiro and his bosses Obama and Clinton Kerry have nothing to worry about.  Bennett has already committed himself to compromising Torah principles: Giving autonomy to Arabs within the borders of Eretz Yisrael through his "Areas A and B" plan and granting to citizenship to thousands of Arabs who do not even come close to achieving the status of gerei toshav (resident aliens) are only two in a list of problematic policies, I find difficult for Bennett to justify according to halakhah (Jewish Law).

The American administration may believe that there are 57 United States.  But, they are wrong.  There are 51, and Israel is the 51st.
